Agile helpers for efficient pallet handling

STILL has brought a new stand on low lift pallet truck and a new stand on high lift pallet truck onto the market. The trucks involved are the SXH 20, which displays its skills in quick HGV loading/unloading or in fast horizontal transport, and the SXD 20, which scores additional points with high goods handling performance in double decker operation.

The trucks are fitted with a maintenance-free 3 kW 3-phase drive motor using 24-volt technology. This guarantees both high performance with lower energy consumption as well as long maintenance intervals. The operator benefits from high goods handling performance at low operating costs. If more efficiency is needed, the tried and tested Blue-Q efficiency mode can be switched on, giving a further energy saving of up to seven percent without significant performance losses. At the same time, these agile industrial trucks with battery capacities up to 500 Ah have enough power for multi-shift operation. Options include sideways battery change via a roller track and an innovative mechanical interlock to ensure the times needed to change batteries are no longer than necessary.

In addition to the extremely robust, torsionally rigid steel frame that predestines the trucks for arduous tasks, special highlights are compact dimensions and an edge-free contour. This yields not only fast, safe load handling but also, combined with its high manoeuvrability, enables optimum utilisation of storage areas. The four-wheel chassis guarantees optimum traction and safe, stable standing at all times. These trucks not only prove their worth over long distances and in the most confined space but also show their stability on ramps: a low truck centre of gravity and optional chassis levelling function ensure easy mastering of gradients.

The individuality of the machines lies in the detail: the driver’s standing compartment can be fitted with a steering wheel installed on the left or right hand side, or optionally with a steering knob, just as the user prefers. The fixed joystick protects the wrist during braking and acceleration. Smooth, precise electrical steering also ensures that the truck can be operated intuitively. The sprung operator platform has minimum human vibration values to guarantee health-friendly operation. Noise emissions have also been reduced significantly due to the very quiet driving and lifting motor. The ergonomic driver standing platform with a wide, cushioned backrest and padded interior also offers a high level of comfort. The driver can keep an eye on all the parameters via a coloured display. For maximum safety, the SXD can be equipped with a lift height dependent speed limiter. To drive around curves safely, the Curve Speed Control on both trucks automatically adjusts the speed in curves to the steering angle. 

The SXH 20 stand on low lift pallet truck is regarded as a medium and long distance specialist. With a load capacity up to 2,000 kg and driving speed of up to 12 km/h, it ensures fast, safe, reliable materials handling. This brisk warehouse helper’s strength lies in its individuality: for particularly high goods handling performance, the truck can be fitted with a fork length of up to 2,400 mm to allow it to pick up two pallets one after another. 

The SXD 20 is a compact all-rounder with a driving speed of up to 10 km/h without and even with a load. The truck is especially suitable for pressure-sensitive loads – e.g. fruit and vegetables. The robust double decker pallet truck enables two standard industrial pallets to be transported and stacked simultaneously. This high lift pallet truck’s strength lies in its flexibility. For example, the SXD 20 as a double decker pallet truck can transport 800 kg at the top on the mast lift and 1,200 kg on the initial lift at the same time. If the initial lift is not being used, the truck can also be used as a pure high lift pallet truck with a load capacity of up to 1,200 kg. As a low lift pallet truck, the machine can even transport 2,000 kg on a single pallet. For the user this means an enormous time saving and high goods handing performance. Moreover, the truck is also outstandingly suitable as a working or lifting table and for shelving operations.
