US Governor Praises Sany Reach Stackers at Georgia State Port

An opening ceremony was recently held at Cordele Inland Port’s new container yard, in the US State of Georgia. The state’s Governor, Nathan Deal, was in attendance at the event and spoke highly of Sany’s SRSC4545C2 reach stacker, which is the largest of its kind in North America.

The new container yard will play a key role at the port because of its large freight volume and geographic position. Once in operation, it is expected to transport about 30,000 containers by rail between Cordele and Savannah (a key Atlantic seaport in Georgia). The new container yard will help reduce the congestion of the port expressway and overall operating costs.

Handling machinery at the container yard has to undertake cross-rail lifting, and so machines have to have outstanding hoisting capacity, high flexibility, and also be equipped with an extra-long wheel base.

Sany’s SRSC4545C2 reach stacker surpassed other competing products on the market and delivered on all three, winning favor with the customer who bought 3 units. The reach stacker can be used for 20' – 40' containers and is able to lift 45-ton containers cross rail.

Equipped with intelligent control technology that detects real-time working parameters, SRSC4545C2 is able to automatically adjust operation under dangerous conditions to prevent rollover.

This high-performance reach stacker also uses a number of industry-leading technologies and protection systems, including an anti-collision system, automatic fire suppression, solid tire suspension system and automatic braking technology.

A representative of the Georgia Ports Authority noted that the organization hopes that Sany will participate more in the construction of new ports in Georgia and make greater contributions to the state’s infrastructure development.
