JCB power products appoints ECI JCB as distributor in Ireland

ECI JCB has been appointed as a JCB generator distributor for Ireland. The company will create a dedicated power business, known as ECI JCB Power and will focus on sales to the power projects market from 10kVA up to 3mVA. To support the launch of ECI JCB Power, the business has appointed previous Broadcrown employees, Farrell Spollen and Peter Deavy to continue to lead sales to the electrical engineering industry in Ireland.

ECI JCB has been a JCB dealer for over 30 years and has two depots in Ireland, specialising in new and used JCB construction machinery. The business headquarters is in Rathcoole, Co Dublin whilst the second depot is in Carrigtwohill Co.Cork. Both locations have a fully equipped service and parts departments, which is backed up by a national mobile team of service engineers, operating from fully equipped service vehicles.

The appointment as a JCB Power Products dealer will see ECI JCB Power provide diesel generators across the whole range from 8 - 3.35MVA, whilst also providing world-class customer service and support. 

ECI Managing Director Denis Murray said: “With the backing of JCB and the knowledge and experience of Broadcrown, now is a fantastic time for ECI JCB to maximise on the power opportunity in Ireland. “Both Farrell and Peter bring with them extensive experience in the generator market, which will help us to build and maintain close relationships with customers and gain insights into how we can meet demand with our products and services, to better fulfil our customers’ needs.”

Farrell Spollen will manage the new power business and Peter Deavy will work as Contracts Manager. Together, Farrell and Peter have over 15 years’ experience in the power industry having both worked with the Broadcrown Irish subsidiary business before the JCB acquisition. Farrell and Peter have a wealth of experience in the power generation market, particularly within the projects business, overseeing orders from hospitals and factories; as well as a fantastic knowledge of the JCB and Broadcrown generator ranges.

Following the acquisition of Broadcrown last year, the business has developed dramatically over the last 12 months. JCB has ambitious plans to continue to grow within the power market, using the knowledge and experience of two great manufacturing businesses to maximise on the opportunity”.

Based in Hixon in Staffordshire, JCB Power Products is the generator division of JCB, providing diesel generators through a global distribution network. The business acquired generator manufacturer Broadcrown in 2015, and now benefits from two UK manufacturing facilities, with over 40 years of knowledge and experience in the power industry.
