New Lease of Life for In-Demand Scissor Lifts

With an ever growing demand for high capacity scissor lifts in the UK, Nationwide Platforms recently commissioned Platform Service and Repair (PSR) to refurbish a number of its popular Liftlux scissor lifts back to a ‘good as new’ standard.

The complete strip down and rebuild of the Liftlux SL205-25 and Liftlux SL260-25 scissor lifts included shot blasting and re-painting in Nationwide Platforms’ famous blue livery, as well as installing new engines, generators and control boxes.
The comprehensive refurb programme ranged from major chassis tests and repairs, through to cleaning the fuel tank and providing new safety decals and operators’ manuals. PSR engineers also carried out load tests and a Thorough Examination once all the work was complete.

Marc Johnson, Technical Director at Nationwide Platforms said: “Due to continuing high demand for large scissors we have invested heavily in a range of new Holland Lifts to replace the majority of our existing fleet; however the ageing Liftliux machines still remain popular with our customers so in addition to investing in new scissors we selected a number to be fully refurbished to compliment our offering. The refurbishments conducted by PSR enable us to keep these popular platforms in our fleet while also providing our customers with high quality machines in superb condition.”

Tony Lock, PSR Service Director, added : “The machines look, feel and operate like brand new access platforms. With some manufacturers offering extended lead times for big booms and scissors, refurbishing existing machines to a good-as-new standard can also be quicker and a more efficient way of refreshing the fleet.”

With a 1,000kg lift capacity and large working platforms, the SL205-25s and SL260-25s are well suited to both in and outdoor construction or maintenance applications, offering working heights of 22.5 metres and 28.3 metre respectively.
