Sany Partners with Deutz in High-Efficiency Engines for Wheel Loaders

Sany Heavy Industry has agreed on a deal with German engine manufacturer Deutz AG to equip Sany’s new SW405 wheel loaders with Deutz’s TCD 7.8 diesel engine.

Deutz is a forerunner in the development of environmentally-friendly and efficient drive technologies, engineering highly durable engine systems that deliver reliable power and fuel economy.

Sany Heavy Machinery and Deutz have been working together for some time, with Deutz supplying diesel engines for use on other Sany machines. This latest deal, however, strengthens the supply agreement between the two companies.

Equipped with an engine that meets the US EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage IV emission requirements, Sany’s SW405 wheel loaders will be sold in US and European markets, and will also comply with the emission standards of strictly regulated markets such as Switzerland and Germany.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Deutz on our Stage IV wheel loader for highly regulated markets,” head of Sany’s wheel loader division Chen Guizhi remarked. “The engine specification and modular exhaust after-treatment is beneficial for us, and we have found working with the Deutz global network to be a very positive experience.”

Deutz’s TCD 7.8 Series diesel engine is designed for the needs of heavy-duty construction machinery and will offer Sany customers a number of operational and energy efficiency benefits. The engine’s exhaust after-treatment technology is optimized for the highest total system efficiency, featuring a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and adiesel particulate filter (DPF) with active diesel burner regeneration for maximum machine availability.

The unique DPF takes the engine’s efficiency level even higher, as its effectiveness in removing soot particulates enables it to fulfill the next emission standard — EU Stage V — which will be put in effect in 2019.

Sany’s SW405 wheel loader will thus ensure that Sany customers enjoy lower total operating costs, with an engine system guaranteed to reduce fuel and oil consumption, and environmental emissions.

“Together we are looking ahead to a successful partnership,” Deutz AG board member Michael Wellenzohn concluded.
