ACB North East hosts open day

Gardner Denver distributor Air Compressors and Blowers (ACB) North East has celebrated becoming runner up at the distributor of the year awards with a customer open day.

The company is the only distributor of Gardner Denver’s Hydrovane, CompAir and Elmo Rietschle brands in the North East region of the UK, offering both vacuum and pressure solutions.

As a result of recent success, ACB North East is opening a new branch in Cumbria in March 2015. It has also been able to take on a new apprentice engineer along with another, more senior engineer, who has been appointed to service compressors throughout Cumbria. In addition, the company has seen an increase in service work on large compressors in the offshore oil and gas markets. Using this growth, ACB North East invested in both vibration analysis and leak detection machines, meaning the company now has the latest equipment to give customers more specific advice on compressed air system servicing and repairs.

Alongside the open day Gardner Denver area sales manager, Graham Read, helped ACB North East take the new Hydrovane HR Regeneration series on the road to visit five local customers. The series is Hydrovane’s re-engineered range of rotary vane compressors, designed to deliver significant energy reductions for operators requiring a reliable and efficient source of industrial air. Customers still benefit from a range of enclosed vertically configured compressors, but with a host of intelligent design improvements that deliver energy efficiency and high performance.

Ease of maintenance has also been considered at every stage of the redesign, with easy-access components to ensure routine service times can be kept to a minimum.

Commenting on the open day, Paul Sparke, Operations Director, ACB North East, said:

“The open day enabled us to showcase a range of new products to our customers, including the Hydrovane HR Regeneration series.

“Over the past two and a half years our growth has also allowed us to purchase more equipment and take on more employees to help service machines across the North East region. This includes a vibration analysis machine which safe guards our customers from any sudden bearing failure by enabling us to test the motor and air-end bearings for wear.”

“We will be hosting another open day later in the year to celebrate the opening of our Cumbria branch.”
