ALPHA evo EcoDrive 5.000 liters

Hardi extends its ALPHA evo, self-propelled sprayer range, by the new ALPHA evo 5.000 l. The farm size and sprayed surface are bigger; the farmers want to reduce the downtime to fill the tank, that’s the reasons why Hardi has develop this new ALPHA evo with a bigger tank capacity. This new ALPHA evo will be available with a 245 hp (180 kW) Deutz engine within engine emission regulation Stage IV and Stage IIIa, only for countries without engine emission regulation. The hydraulic transmission will be the most powerful in the market with two Sauer pumps 115 cc and four Poclain motors (2x 1.600 cc on front and 2 x 2.500 cc on back). Thanks this power the ALPHA evo will be able to drive on the road at 40 kph with a low engine RPM and will be able to spray in flat field at 20 kph and maintain 12 kph on high slope.

This AirRide air suspension come from the experience gained on the SARITOR, broad acre self-propelled sprayer range for farms over 5.000 ha and applied to the ALPHA evo range.

The context:

The Self-propelled sprayer ALPHA evo is born in the early 2010. It deserved to see the comfort of its suspension rising to be in adequacy with the power of its new transmission Ecodrive, which was introduced in September, 2013.

Finally, the behavior of use evolves. The stricter regulations reduced the ranges of spraying and the farmers need to increase their working speed to realize their works in this more reduced time. For those who increased their speed of spraying the Ecodrive transmission allowed them to increase their rate of works, however the comfort was not in its optimum.

To accompany these changes HARDI brings an air suspension chassis solution, available as an option, the AirRide suspension.

Operation and benefits:

The AirRide suspension of the ALPHA evo consists of air bag as well as a new design of suspension.

• The rear axle shares its cinematic with the current ALPHA, while replacing the coil spring by a big air bag. This allows not disturbing the behavior of the boom suspension and maintaining the balance of the ALPHA in strong slope. The chassis’ height will be maintained whatever is the level in tank through leveling valves.

• The front axle is specific to the “Air-Ride” suspension. It takes back the cinematic developed on the SARITOR which allows independent wheels movement, to provide a maximum comfort even at high spraying speed through a wheel travel of 185 mm.

Hydraulic adjustable track width 100 cm variation

Operation and benefits:

Two half axles are mounted in parallel on each of the front and rear axles. The hydraulic sliding of these half axles provides a variation of 1 meter between the maximum and minimum position. The width setting is managed by the driver from the cab control box.

The minimum track width will be 1.80 m, to the maximum 2.80 m, depending to tires width.

The users’ benefits will be:

• A wide choice of track width which allowed to contractors to offer their job to any farmer regardless of the row spacing,

• Capability to change tires’ width between winter and spring while maintaining same track width. Wide tires in winter to limit the soil compaction and foot print and narrower tires in spring to prevent crops damages,

• Extend the track width in fields related to the cultural systems or for safety in order to gain stability on slopes.
