APF 1240 Vibratory Plate from Ammann

One compactor for every task

Earth, gravel, asphalt or paving – the Ammann APF 1240 Vibratory Plate proves its worth in garden construction and landscape gardening. It is also easy and convenient to use in tight confines thanks to its practical design and foldable grip. An optional Vulkollan foot and a sprinkler system ensure that every substrate receives the careful attention it needs.

Vibratory plates need to be fit for a wide range of applications in garden construction and landscaping, as the tasks change on a daily basis. Today, the paved courtyard entrance needs compacting, while tomorrow it might be the drainage ditch and the day after the freshly laid asphalt path. The APF 1240 Vibratory Plate from Ammann is the light compactor for any small to medium-sized surface. The petrol version has a compaction force adequate for a depth of up to 15 cm. The diesel version can even reach depths of up to 18 cm.

The APF 1240 is 40 cm wide and therefore particularly compact and very easy to manoeuvre. This makes it especially easy to use in very tight confines – for instance, when garden fences, curbs, house walls or flowerbeds restrict the scope of movement. When an obstacle is encountered, the operator can simply flip the grip forward and guide the vibratory plate in the other direction. There is no need to try to manhandle the machine in a different direction.

The area to be compacted is not always large. It is often the small areas a few metres apart that operators find particularly annoying. Anyone who has to strenuously drag a machine from left to right has only himself to blame. After all, the APF 1240 operator can simply lower the two integrated wheels and conveniently push the vibratory plate from A to B.

An optionally available vibration-proof guide grip make work even easier and more ergonomic. It reduces hand-arm vibrations to 1.9 m/s2 so the vibratory plate is easier to guide with even less effort.

Optional features extend the compact vibratory plate’s scope of use. For instance, fitting a Vulkollan foot improves efficiency when compacting paving stones and slabs. The hard-wearing plastic add-on protects the slabs and prevents the surface from cracking. The APF 1240 has an infinitely adjustable vibration frequency of up to 98 Hz for careful compaction.

An optional sprinkler system that includes a water tank is a very helpful tool when using the vibratory plate on asphalt substrates. Keeping the base plate consistently wet prevents the asphalt from sticking. With a capacity of 10 litres, it is adequate for small- to medium-sized road repairs.

The compact vibratory plate has yet another convenient feature for when the work is done: simply fold the grip or take it off and load the APF 1240 into the boot of the car.
