In the presence of the Mayor of Pontchâteau, Mr. Bernard Clouet, a number of local journalists and the 175 employees of Bobcat's Pontchâteau plant gathered on Friday, 24th June, to celebrate getting off to a smooth start on production of a new generation of 6 and 7 meter telehandlers.
Fabien Portier, Director of the Bobcat Pontchâteau plant, presented the workforce with an extremely positive picture after the first 2 months of production. The plant's prospects for the future are encouraging, after a number of difficult years on the economic and social fronts. “The last six months have seen companies starting to invest again, and we are speeding up our redeployment in order to take a larger slice of the market” Fabien Portier explained. “This new range of ultra-modern and highly competitive Bobcat machines heralds a new period of prosperity for our plant”.
Bobcat's Pontchâteau factory will be designing and producing Bobcat's new range of telehandlers for international markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, CIS, Asia, North and South America, and Oceania.
The new TL360 and TL470 Telescopic Handler models
These two new models feature a number of brand new functions, advantages and options not only for Bobcat telehandlers, but for the telehandler industry. Their patented asymmetric cab, for example, gives a perfectly clear view over the rear of the machine.
Direction of travel is selected by a switch on the joystick, so that the operator can perform all manoeuvres with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the joystick. Operators can switch between forward and reverse in the blink of an eye, maximizing productivity while still controlling all the functions of the machine. The hydrostatic drive also features two modes, for high speed and precision movements.
Nominal lifting capacity is 3 tonne for the TL360 and 3.5 tonne for the TL470. Both machines offer a lifting capacity of 3 tons at maximum working height. The maximum reach of the TL360 is 3365 mm, while that of the TL470 is 4002 mm. Lifting capacity at maximum extension is 1300 and 1500 kg, respectively.
