About the Genie® SX-180 self-propelled boom lift

Designed to meet the challenges of today’s towering oil and gas refinery, chemical, shipyard, general construction and maintenance tasks, the SX-180 boom lift combines the benefits of both vertical and horizontal jib rotation to position workers and gear exactly where they are needed for high-precision access and placement up to 57 m (186 ft), with a horizontal reach up to 24.4 m (80 ft). Thanks to its compact Genie X-chassis™ system, the axles of the SX-180 are rapidly extendable and retractable to combine safe stability on the job with a narrow profile for ease of transport. Stowed dimensions are 3.05m (10 ft) in height, 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) wide and 12.98 m (42 ft 7 in) in length for a total machine weight of 24,948 kg (55,000 lbs) easily transportable by truck. With a limited tail swing, this machine can be used within a town without cluttering the entire traffic lane. Combining a platform rotation of 160° to further enhance precision of access at extreme heights, this self-propelled Genie super boom is also designed to be driven at full height, complete with a generously proportioned 2.44 m (8 ft) by 0.91 m (3 ft) work platform providing a capacity of up to 340 kg (750 lb).
