Switzerland's long standing Terex Cranes customer Matthey-Petit is expanding its fleet with an order for a new Demag® AC 45 City crane.

“We already owned an AC 40 City which we bought years ago and were very pleased with it. When we found out that Demag was about to return to the City class, we were instantly interested,” explains Blaise Hochstrasser, CEO. “We’ve been impressed with the Demag crane's technologies, performance and reliability.”

Christian Kassner, Terex Cranes Senior Sales Manager, adds: “Since reintroducing the Demag City class to the market, our customers have shown their loyalty to the brand through orders and positive feedback. We appreciate the trust Matthey Petit has placed in our organization and the Demag product line.”

Unveiled in October 2017, the new 3-axle unit redefines compactness in the 45-tonne lifting capacity class with a total length of only 8.68 meters, a width of 2.55 meters, and an overall height of just 3.16 meters. And the fact that its height can be reduced to less than 3.08 meters makes it unbeatable when space is at a premium, as is the case indoors. With its short base boom of just 7.8 m and options like the boom head traverse for increased lifting heights, the AC 45 City crane is able to work in buildings with a relatively low clearance while still keeping its boom at a steep angle, enabling it to lift heavy loads indoors. And since the main boom is fully hydraulic, the AC 45 City can get ready to start working much faster than comparable cranes with booms that need to be set up with pins.

Also, together with the IC-1 Plus control system, the Demag AC 45 City is able to work with infinite outrigger positioning, meaning that it can be perfectly adjusted for all space conditions and load requirements within crane’s lifting capacity. On top of this, and for the first time ever, the crane offers the possibility of working with the IC-1 Plus control system both when using the runner and when telescoping under load.
