Number 5: Auto-Krandienst Jaromin Receives Terex® Explorer 5500 All Terrain Crane

With its acquisition of a Terex® Explorer 5500 all terrain crane, Oberhausen-based crane rental company Autokran-Dienst Jaromin has expanded the Terex stock in its fleet to a total of five machines. The main thing that made General Managers Olaf and Lars Jaromin decide on the new Explorer 5500 was the unit’s enormous versatility, which the all terrain crane owes to a multitude of factors, like its innovative IC-1 Plus control system: “Together with the asymmetrical outrigger configuration and fine-tuned partial counterweight options, the IC-1 Plus control system makes it possible to have just the right lifting capacity for each individual project. That enables us to take fewer counterweights with us – and sometimes none at all – for many construction site projects,” explains Olaf Jaromin. In addition, the Explorer 5500 is able to travel with a ten-tonne axle load. This not only results in shorter waiting times for travel permits, but also in the ability to fulfill customers’ needs much more quickly.

When configuring its Explorer 5500, Jaromin focused not only on technical performance by selecting a hydraulically offsettable main boom extension and a counterweight detection system, but also on crane operator comfort by choosing an engine-independent heater and an air conditioning system. Not surprisingly, the company’s crane operators were more than happy to receive their new machine from Terex Sales Manager Helge Prüfer at the company’s headquarters in Oberhausen.
