Superior Displays Road Portable RazerTail® Truck Unloader at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014

Superior Industries, Inc., a major manufacturer of conveyor systems and their related components, highlighted its growing line of portable truck unloaders at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014. Known as the RazerTail Truck Unloader, these units control segregation as material is transferred from truck to stockpile.

Superior’s RazerTail truck unloader is well known for its portability from site to site. In minutes, units can be adjusted from highway mode and ready for truck traffic. To speed setup, Superior engineers recently developed sets of onboard truck ramps, which eliminate the requirement for material producers to incorporate earthen ramps for truck access to the hopper grates.

Each RazerTail truck unloader is equipped with a set of Superior patented self-cleaning ramps. These hydraulically operated ramps can be automatically triggered to dump any spilled material into the hopper after a truck’s exit. The innovation controls maintenance needs traditionally required around the hoppers of truck unloaders.

Today, RazerTail truck unloaders are available for bulk handling applications up to 2,000 tons per hour. Units come in belt widths of 48 or 72-inches and can accommodate material sizes from fine sand to lumps up to 8” minus. As displayed at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, an adjustable height discharge conveyor can be incorporated into the machine, which eliminates the need for a transfer conveyor between the truck unloader and stockpile conveyor or other loading equipment. Depending on the requirements, the RazerTail truck unloader’s discharge conveyor can extend up to 12-feet, 8-inches.
