Upgraded Boom Booster Kit for Demag® CC 3800-1 Crawler Cranes

Terex Cranes announces an extension to its popular Boom Booster kit for Demag® CC 3800-1 crawler cranes. The newest version of the Boom Booster Kit extends the reach of the Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane to a maximum system length of 183 m (600 ft).

The Boom Booster kit for Demag CC 3800-1 crawler cranes can have up to nine structural 12 m sections including two adapters. The kit’s new configurations and lengths are the results of removing lighter boom sections close to the head section and adding 3.5 m (11.5 ft) wide Boom Booster sections right after the foot section. The Boom Booster kit now can have a total length of up to 108 m. In order to get the long boom configurations off the ground the Superlift mast length extends to 42 m (138 ft) with an additional 2.5 m (8.2 ft) section.

The Boom Booster kit increases the main boom stiffness of the CC 3800-1 resulting in higher lift capacities by up to 30 percent. The kit comes with the Demag fall protection system as standard. There is an optional Superlift Split Tray and an optional Flex Frame available. When both systems work together the amount of time required for re-arranging counterweights between erection of the crane and working with the crane drops substantially. That reduces working hours for personnel and eliminates the need for an assist crane for re-stacking. Furthermore the optional Flex Frame solution allows flexible setting of the superlift counterweight in a radius from 13 to 21 m (42 to 69 ft) with full counterweight on the tray.

Equipped with the Boom Booster kit, the CC 3800-1 crawler crane increases performance, making it an excellent choice for heavy lifting, high reach applications like wind turbine erection, power plant installations, petrochemical work, as well as general construction and infrastructure lifts.

The Boom Booster kit is available with new crane purchases or is easily retrofitted to existing Terex Superlift 3800 and Demag CC 3800-1 models.
