The ATLAS 140W “Big Foot” wheeled excavator can operate in areas where the ground conditions are unsuitable for anything but a track machine. This makes it the ideal excavator for water management authorities who like to use it for undertaking routing maintenance of watercourses or conducting de-silting operations. Of course, there are many other applications for this durable machine, limited only by your imagination.

Powerfully strong axles coupled with a limited slip differential of 35% and the huge tires with dimensions of 710/45-26.5 20 PR, make the Big Foot the machine with the highest ground clearance and the lowest ground contact pressure on the market. In order not to restrict the swing of the steering axle, ATLAS equipped the 140W “Big Foot” with a specially designed undercarriage. Despite the impressive wheels, the machine is still road legal due to its overall height being less than 4.00 meters.

The Big Foot provides the highest payloads in its class for working over the side of the machine, which makes it extremely stable and comfortable to work with even at its maximum reach. Equipped with a second jib, it features a reach of 11 meters at which it still lifts the impressive load of 1.3 tons without the requirement for stabilizers. In addition, ATLAS offer a wide range of boom combinations that leaves nothing to be desired for their customers.

In their new design of super sensitive hydraulics, ATLAS attached great value to making the machine as versatile as possible, and as a result, it is capable for use with a vast number of different attachment tools – several even specifically developed for the Big Foot. The hydraulic system was adapted to reduce the wear on the cutter bar, which significantly extends its service life. Even in mowing operations with an oil flow of 26 liters and a permanent pressure of 180 bar, none of the work movements of the tool will cause a performance slump; with the engine working at an average of 1,480 RPM, this ensures a low fuel consumption of maximum 6.3 liters per hour.

One of the guiding principles of ATLAS is to fully involve the operators in the development of their machines and to take their desires and suggestions into account to the greatest possible extent. The result is a newly designed cab, equipped with the largest windscreens on the market. This gives the operator a superb panoramic view – and an unobstructed vision of the operating environment means superior safety at work. This special feature directly benefits the operators, since they can work more confidently and are, therefore, more efficient and safe.

The machine is also suitable for towing operations and allows the hitching of a trailer thanks to the Rockinger towing hitch as well as a ball head coupling arrangement.

All this makes the ATLAS 140W “Big Foot” a truly versatile all-round workhorse. We even have an option for a 36km/h top speed “sprinter version”, should you have the need for extra road speed!
