"Strong types" show what the industry has to offer at Agritechnica

The Osnabrück tyre wholesalers Bohnenkamp engaged themselves with words and deeds at Agritechnica and supported the "Werkstatt LIVE" fair special at Stand E39 in Hall 2. Here the Federal Association for Agricultural Technology, in co-operation with the DLG, showed which demands are posed today on apprentices, service technicians and experts in the career of the land and construction machine mechanic based on practically-demonstrated and commentated maintenance and conversion work on the most modern technology from agriculture.

Show highlight: tyre change

In accordance with the industry campaign "strong types", it was shown in the demonstrations how future-proof, innovative and demanding the industry is. Potential apprentices could experience technology live here and get information from people the same age about a career of a land and construction machine mechatronics engineer.

At the demonstrations, starting every hour, a team of 15 apprentices, associates, service technicians and masters showed the demanding tasks which the career of a land and construction machine mechatronics engineer has to offer on two large tractors in a realistic workshop situation. A "heavier" portion here: a complete wheel and tyre change with the help of a modern assembly machine which is supervised and accompanied by Bohnenkamp.

Creating enthusiasm for the occupation and the business.

In order to generate enthusiasm for the profession, Bohnenkamp, together with the DLG, wrote to schools in Osnabrück and the surrounding area and invited them to the Agritechnica and "Workshop LIVE". The business also organised the transport to the fair. Michael Rieken, Director at Bohnenkamp AG, said: “The education of a new generation is of very high importance for us. Many have no idea how highly mechanised and modern our industry is. Engagement with the ”Werkstatt LIVE” is therefore a natural choice for us and also gives us the possibility of moving Bohnenkamp as a modern training enterprise into the focus of young people searching for an apprenticeship. “
