ENTECO E9080 DR: Secant piles at the udine (Italy) worksite

ENTECO rigs are hard at work in Osoppo (Udine-Italy) to build a protective bulkhead along the Transalpine oil pipeline in the section that crosses the Tagliamento River: this ambitious project involves building around 1600 secant piles with a diameter of 800 mm at depths from 7 to 15 m (centre distance between the piles 60 cm).

The undisputed protagonist on site is the ENTECO E9080 DR, a model with a double rotary head for cased CFA drilling. The rig allows you to excavate piles using the continuous flight auger system, while simultaneously driving the casing, thanks to the two rotary heads which operate at the same time but in opposite directions.

The E9080 DR is fitted with a device which removes debris on a conveyor belt, discharging the excavated soil at the side of the drilling rig. This innovative system, an EXCLUSIVE ENTECO PATENT, keeps the drilling area clean and tidy, reducing cleaning time and increasing on-site safety. It also improves the quality of the top part of the cast pile (the head) as it stops the concrete from becoming polluted by the excavated material. To find out more, come and visit us on site in Osoppo up to the end of April!
