European rollout of new BYD range to begin in Autumn

Fleet managers anxious to take advantage of BYD’s new line-up of lithium iron phosphate powered forklifts don’t have long to wait – the trucks will go on sale in selected EU countries later this year with the rollout continuing throughout Europe, alongside the introduction of a number of new truck models, during 2015 and beyond.

BYD Europe will be making the exciting new range of Fe battery (lithium iron phosphate) powered forklifts being launched this week at CeMAT 2014 available in four countries before the end of this year, with four more to follow in 2015.

The first markets to benefit from the many advantages of BYD forklift technology will be Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, where the trucks will go on sale in October 2014. A network of 26 dealers is currently being finalised in Germany, with two covering the Netherlands and two more providing coverage in Belgium and Luxembourg.  All will be up and running in full by October.

By the middle of next year, meanwhile, the BYD range will also become available in France, the United Kingdom, Austria and Switzerland.

In choosing dealers to partner with, BYD Europe is selecting only those with a strong track record of strong customer service and after sales infrastructure ensuring customers receive the very best service and backup and allowing them to buy into the benefits of the BYD range with absolute confidence.

Range expansion

It isn’t just the BYD sales network that is set for dramatic expansion, however – the BYD Europe model line-up, too, will be greatly extended in the next two to three years, not least by the imminent arrival of the CPD16, a new 1.6 ton three-wheel electric counterbalance forklift that will be unveiled very soon. There are also plans to increase the four-wheel counterbalance forklift range shortly and to introduce further powered pallet truck models, including sit-down versions.

BYD Europe will also be extending the range it offers to several other types of warehouse equipments in the near future, including reach trucks, order pickers, stacker trucks and tow trucks.

In all, in fact, it plans to release over 50 different models throughout Europe, providing end users with all the truck variants they could possibly need and making BYD Forklift a truly full-range, one-stop-shop supplier of top-quality materials handling equipment.

“These are very exciting times,” commented BYD Europe Forklifts Director, Javier Contijoch. “The trucks being launched here at CeMAT 2014 are really just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the range we will be making available throughout Europe in the near future. The number of variants we have coming along is simply massive, and all of them will be powered by BYD’s unique lithium iron phosphate battery technology, which we know will prove highly attractive to fleets of all sizes.

“By establishing such a wide-ranging line-up of warehouse trucks that all offer the very substantial benefits of BYD’s lithium iron phosphate battery technology, alongside a quality-led network of dealers that can give those fleets the right service at the right time in the right way, we will be perfectly poised to help end users take full advantage of the Fe battery technology and slash the operating costs of their fleets very dramatically.”
