Explosion-proof forklift trucks: the SPED department at the service of extreme customization

Sometimes handling takes place in the very particular conditions. Conditions that require special attention to ensure safety. This is the case of forklifts operating in areas with an high risk of explosion or fire, such as chemical plants, petroleum installations, military areas or premises with a high concentration of flammable gas in the air.

In such applications it is necessary to radically transform the truck and its components, inhibiting any possibility of spark. An explosion-proof forklift truck, a variation of the Carer Z80H model, was prepared for an important military base. It is an electric forklift with an 80-ton capacity, used in the handling of explosive material and aircraft pallets.

The truck was turned into an explosion-proof machine thanks to the close collaboration of the SPED Department (Special Products Equipment Department) with a company specializing in this type of modification. This case history is further confirmation of the ability of Carer in developing projects to respond to any handling need, even suiting extreme conditions.
