STAR 6
At bauma China 2016, Haulotte Group will be officially launching the STAR 6 – the newest addition to its STAR range of vertical masts – into the Chinese construction market. The STAR 6 presents the ideal solution for executing day-to-day tasks efficiently and safely in both indoor and outdoor working environments.
Unprecedented innovation
The STAR 6 is the first product of its kind to offer both a lateral and longitudinal fork lifting system. This ground-breaking feature enables the machine to be easily loaded and transported in a standard truck bed, which reduces transport time.
It also introduces asynchronous motors that deliver exceptional torque, giving operators the greater control needed to access difficult and confined spaces. The machine’s capability for high precision is further enhanced by its responsive lifting and lowering movements, which results in greater overall productivity.
Optimal agility in confined working spaces
At 5.80m, the STAR 6 offers the best working height on the market, and its platform only adds to this advantage. Not only has the inside platform width been increased by 0.1m to provide more space for workers – the STAR 6 can accommodate two people on indoor jobs – but a platform extension of a further 0.4m is another available option.
Enhanced safety features with minimal maintenance
Integrated safety features, such as an anti-slip step and a walkable protection plinth, provide greater operator security when accessing the platform. On the STAR 6, the tilt sensor is located just under the platform, while two swing-out trays facilitate the inspection of the batteries, chargers and hydraulic system. Quick and direct accessibility to these control points allow safety checks to be performed in mere seconds.
With no brushes to change, no hydraulic drive, and less mechanical parts for its on-wheel axis, the STAR 6 requires little to no maintenance. Even when required, the incorporation of Haulotte Activ’ screen, the company’s new on-board diagnostic tool, makes the repair process more efficient.
Haulotte has drawn on its more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing of aerial working platforms, as well as extensive customer feedback to produce a multi-purpose machine suited to a wide range of working environments and applications. Suresh Kuttaiyan, Haulotte’s Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, said, “Our engineers are dedicated to innovation and exceeding expectations. The STAR 6 was produced with Haulotte’s design philosophy in mind – to bring customers across the globe with simple, robust and reliable products. We hope to keep this tradition alive in the regions we expand to and in the years to come.”
STAR 6 Picking
Haulotte Group will also launch the STAR 6 Picking, another addition to its STAR range of vertical masts. Similarly prioritising productivity, safety, and ease of maintenance, the STAR 6 Picking shares many attributes with the STAR 6.
The difference is that it is a solution used exclusively in the indoor retail industry. Its design ensures that it perform applications such as stock-checking, order and stock picking, Point of Sale (POS) signage, and building maintenance.
Enhanced safety without compromising productivity
The STAR 6 Picking benefits from brand new additional safety features. Operators can have peace of mind when accessing and using the STAR 6 Picking. Baseboards and anti-skid steps ensures operator safety when getting up on to the machine platform. The platform itself is given greater stability and rigidity from a mast with reversed caissons. Finally, double lateral lambo doors with open-door sensors prevent any machine movement if either of the doors are not closed.
Its picking tray contains removable side panels and a front-end guardrail to protect goods. This feature ensures that packages are perfectly braced, minimising the risk of falls and damage to products while enhancing machine safety. The STAR 6 Picking is also able to move at a market-leading forward speed of 4.5km/h, simultaneously elevate its platform and picking tray, and safely lift goods of up to 80kg at once – contributing to greater productivity and efficiency.
Increased visibility
The STAR 6 Picking is the first aerial working platform equipped with an optional ACTIV’Pedestrian light. This intuitive feature is automatically activated as soon as the machine is in motion, projecting a spotlight in front of the machine to alert bystanders of its presence. Visibility around corners is consequently advanced, preventing collisions with pedestrians in indoor retail environments. Furthermore, the mast design of the platform allows operators to work without any restriction to their field of vision.
Suresh Kuttaiyan, Haulotte’s Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, said, “We are delighted to introduce such a niche machine as the STAR 6 Picking into the Chinese market. Going forward, we hope to continue producing machines for both general as well as more specific applications.”
