The public online voting for the Top 10 projects in different categories for the GreenTec Awards 2015, Europe’s largest environmental and business prize, concluded on January 11, 2015. The BHS project – “IC Process: Environmentally-friendly recycling of next-generation refrigeration units” – impressed the online voters as well as the expert jury and is thus among the TOP 3 selected in the “Recycling & Resources” category. The winner will be announced during a festive award ceremony on May 29, 2015 in Berlin. Along with the other 1,000 invited guests from the worlds of business, politics, science, culture and media, BHS representatives will be in attendance.
With the IC process, BHS has succeeded in developing a new technology that recycles refrigeration units containing CFCs and hydrocarbons in an efficient and environmentally-friendly manner. Unlike in conventional processes, the refrigerants and blowing agents are catalytically treated, thus eliminating their detrimental environmental impact. Besides its excellent environmental performance, the process is also more cost-effective.
BHS-Sonthofen is delighted with the nomination and the manner in which it underlines the innovative and future-oriented character of the “IC Process” project.
