Terex, CBI Looking Forward to Machine Demonstrations at NEFP 2015

CBI and Terex Environmental Equipment (TEE), a product line under Terex Materials Processing of the Terex Corporation, are set to exhibit their materials processing machines for the first time since Terex acquired CBI in April. The live demonstrations will take place at the 2015 Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo from May 15 – 16 in Bangor, ME. The machines that will be demonstrated help serve as the new Terex ECO product line. Terex and CBI will be stationed side-by-side at booths X2 and X3, respectively.

Attendees expected for the show will watch CBI demonstrate its all-new ChipMax 484BP and Magnum Force 5800BT. CBI’s 484BP and 484BT are both designed to feature two rotor options, which makes it possible for producing high-quality fuel chips that are custom-sized 3/4” to 1-1/4” or “micro-chips” from 1/8” to 1/2” for small wood-fired boilers and the pellet mill industry. As for the CBI 5800BT, the horizontal grinder is specialized for contractors dealing with lower production needs or transportation restrictions.

“Both the 484BP and 5800BT incorporate advancements that we have made in design innovation, ease of maintenance, and recognition of the North American market for chippers and grinders,” said CBI Engineering Manager Jeff Moulton. “The ChipMax 484BP is a compact machine with impressive production. Innovative designs such as a sliding engine to engage the belts and sloped infeed with high-torque feed rolls set this machine apart from its competition.

“The 5800BT incorporates a split hog box with two-piece grate frame similar to the 6800BT, which gives easy access to changing tips and grate liners.”

Machine attachments such as the CBI Log & Stump Screw XLP, CBI Stump Shearand CBI RR30 Root Rake will also be showcased during the two-day show. The XLP is purpose-built for splitting oversized butt logs, pole wood, tree service block wood and stumps into manageable size. It is capable of splitting wood up to seven feet (two meters) in diameter and up to 20 feet (six meters) in length. The XLP fits virtually any excavator with auxiliary hydraulics.

TEE is expected to demonstrate its TBC 430T whole tree chipper and TBG 630T horizontal grinder. Its biomass whole tree chippers are purpose-built to support customers from biomass plants, logging operations, sawmills and operations pertaining to site clearing and land development. Its horizontal grinders are designed as a universal product for reducing wood, industrial waste and other waste material.

The 2015 NEFP Expo stands as the premier logging and forestry equipment show for the northeastern United States and it presents the first opportunity for Terex and CBI to exhibit their materials processing equipment since last month’s acquisition. Over 180 exhibitors are expected for the two-day expo, which primarily targets loggers, land clearers and firewood processors.

The timing of the NEFP Expo gives TEE an opportunity to educate consumers on just how deep its materials processing product line is with CBI. With the wood processing, biomass fuel production and recycling markets continuing to grow, the global opportunities for Terex and CBI have increased. The acquisition also adds customization and specialty capabilities that enables TEE to meet the toughest of customer requirements across the globe.

“We see a real opportunity to bring value to customers in these industries by providing equipment that combines the know-how of CBI and TEE with our existing Materials Processing expertise,” said Terex Kieran Hegarty, President of Terex Materials Processing.
