Väderstad is awarded for its digital innovations

Väderstad has received an Honourable mention by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. The price was presented at the German-Swedish Tech Forum in Stockholm January 31st. The ceremony was opened by the German chancellor Angela Merkel and the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.

- We are very pleased to get this award and we are proud to have developed a user-friendly technology, which has been welcomed with open arms from by our customers, says Crister Stark, Chairman of the board at Väderstad.

Väderstad receives the Honourable mention for the control system Väderstad E-Control, which is a digital technology that lets the farmer control and monitor the seed drill with an iPad.

- We have just started our digital journey, which will benefit both our new and existing customers. Through a simple software update, the existing customers are continually able to get their machinery updated with new functions completely free of charge. New customers always get the latest software update with their new machinery. We have still only seen the beginning of this amazing journey, says Crister Stark.

- We received over 40 nominations, from a wide range of industries. This year we chose to recognize companies that innovatively use digitization to further develop relatively traditional manufacturing. Väderstad, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, received an Honourable mention for this very reason, says Johan Weigelt, Chairman of the jury and the academic secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
