Well prepared for the demographic change

As one of the first companies in Lower Saxony, AMF-Bruns was awarded the new certificate "Demografiefest. Social Partnership Company" of the Lower Saxony Demographic Agency. The certificate was handed over by Olaf Lies, Minister for Economic Affairs, in the old Town Hall in Hanover during the DemographyFestival on June 8th, 2015.

The certificate is a confirmation that AMF-Bruns has proactively faced the challenges of demographic change, and has already initiated several different measures. The aim of these measures is to be prepared and in a good position in the competition for the best young talents, also in future – and simultaneously creating long-term ties between qualified employees and our company.

For example, this means the introduction of a holistically oriented health management, which is beneficial also for the older employees. But also attractive further training offers, and possibilities for improved work/life balance, e.g. by means of flexible organization of work times are part of the comprehensive range of measures, which is being extended continuously.

However, the new certificate is not only an acknowledgement of what has been achieved so far. Together with the Lower Saxony Demographic Agency, a target agreement was also developed within the scope of certification, aimed at continuously improving the demographic stability at AMF-Bruns, for example by reorganized workplaces in the administrative departments, as well as optimized internal knowledge management.

"The certificate shows that we are on the right path with our measures", says Jan Woltermann, director of AMF-Bruns. "In addition, the relationships with our employees are featured by trust and team spirit," he adds. "Another important factor in our efforts to win expert people, and tie them to our company."

Patrons of the Demographic Agency, which awards the certificate, are the Lower Saxony State Government, the Employer's Association Niedersachsen-Metall, and the Deutsche Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB). Apart from AMF-Bruns, eleven other companies were distinguished for the first time in 2015, for example the steelworks Georgsmarienhütte GmbH, the city of Wolfsburg, and WABCO GmbH in Hanover.
