Rototilt Group AB, headquartered in Vindeln, Sweden, is a leading manufacturer of tiltrotators and related system solutions for excavators. The company's origins trace back to 1953 when brothers Allan and Rune Jonsson founded Br. Jonsson, initially focusing on excavator sales and modifications.
In 1963, Allan Jonsson co-founded Cranab, a crane manufacturing company, with Karl-Ragnar Åström. Later, in 1969, Indexator, a company specializing in hydraulic components, relocated to Vindeln and was acquired by Jonsson in 1973. Under his leadership, Indexator began mass-producing rotators in 1977, introducing a hydraulic rotator with unlimited 360° rotation the following year. The first tiltrotator branded as Rototilt® was launched in 1986 by Noreco, a company founded by the Norgren brothers in Umeå, Sweden. In 1992, Indexator acquired the rights to Rototilt® after Noreco faced financial difficulties, marking the beginning of its focus on tiltrotator technology.
In 2015, the company rebranded as Rototilt Group AB, reflecting its commitment to innovation and growth in the construction equipment industry. Today, Rototilt offers a comprehensive range of products, including machine couplers, tiltrotators, control systems, and tools, enhancing excavator efficiency and versatility. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and technological advancement, Rototilt continues to expand its global presence, serving markets across Europe, North America, and beyond.
