BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH involved in the renovation of the Munich wastewater treatment plant

The waste water treatment plant Gut Großlappen on the northern edge of Munich has been in operation since 1926 and – together with a second plant – cleans the waste water of around 1.5 million inhabitants. Since 1957, it has been continuously modernized and expanded through extensions, new buildings and a multitude of measures. The first biological stage, the oldest plant section still in existence, is currently being renewed. The construction measures will be carried out during ongoing operation in several construction phases and will be completed by 2021. BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH was commissioned with the specialist foundation engineering works.

Bauer constructed six individual excavation pits with around 12,500 square meters of static Mixed-in-Place retaining wall for the connecting cables from the clarification tanks to the biological clarification stage. The drilling depths amounted to up to 15 meters for the up to eight-meter-deep excavation pits. Two RG 25 with triple augers from RTG Rammtechnik GmbH, a BAUER Maschinen Group company, were used.
