On the "zero emission boulevard" visitors are guided through the exhibition stand of Wacker Neuson and Kramer. Above all, the most up-to-date machines of the Zero Emission series can be examined. These include battery-powered rammers, vibratory plates and electric wheel loaders, dumper and mini excavators, which can be seen on various experience stations. Included are the new vibratory plate AP2560e and the new battery-powered rammer AS60e. Both are equipped with the proven Wacker Neuson battery. This replacement battery can therefore already be used in six products from Wacker Neuson. The modular concept makes it possible to use the battery as needed in one of the six devices and in the meantime to charge another battery. The replacement of the batteries can be done entirely without tools. The battery system is an in-house development and was specially designed for use on vibrating machines and in harsh conditions. In addition to other emission-free machines, such as the EZ17e mini-excavator or the DW15e wheel dumper, Wacker Neuson also introduces its new RTx diesel-powered articulated trench roller, which has an operating width that can be easily reduced from 82 cm to 56 cm. Another innovation is the dual view concept from Wacker Neuson. This allows riders of wheel dumpers to easily change the seating position through a 180 degree turn of the entire control and seat console. As a result, the driver always has the best view of the action, which ensures more safety on the construction site. As a special highlight that Wacker Neuson offers its visitors at the outdoor exhibition stand is a Ferris wheel. From a height of around 35 meters, visitors can take a special look at the exhibition grounds and the demonstration and exhibition area of Wacker Neuson and Kramer.Read full article

Wacker Neuson sees China as a very important market, especially in terms of growth. For this reason, a new production facility including its own development and training center was built in the city of Pinghu not far from Shanghai for about two years. It was officially opened at the end of November with about 500 visitors. The site for this new plant covers 135,000 square meters and there is around 33,000 square meters of building space. Pinghu is located between Shanghai and Hangzhou which makes Pinghu a very strategical place. The Chinese market has great potential for Wacker Neuson. According to CEO of the family business, Martin Lehner, the need for better infrastructure, upgrading and modernization of the road and rail network, as well as the focus on more efficient and greener, compact construction machinery in the country, confirms the decision. Wacker Neuson has been active in Asia-Pacific for several decades and is therefore well acquainted with the conditions on the local market. The construction of the plant in Pinghu was an important step for the further expansion there. Since January 2018 mini-bearings have been produced in this factory. These are distributed via the existing dealer network in the Asian market. Wacker Neuson also cooperates with John Deere and manufactures mini and compact excavators here. These construction machines produced in Pinghu are being sold under the "Deere" brand by the existing John Deere dealer network. The first of these construction machines will be handed over to John Deere in the first half of 2019.Read full article

Wacker Neuson and John Deere Construction & Forestry came to the agreement to OEM cooperation. Which means Wacker Neuson will manufacture excavators in the range from 1,5 to 7,5 tons and John Deere will sell them under its own brand with its own warranty via its dealer network. John Deere's american equivalent would be the excavator range 17G-60G. These mini and compact excavators are designed to meet the requirements of Asian markets and will be manufactured mostly in Pinghu, China. This factory was finished in 2017 and first compact excavator came out in the beginning of 2018. Both John Deere and Wacker Neuson already have their own dealer networks in Asia-Pacific region and they should be expanded in upcoming years. Wacker Neuson will keep selling the light and compact equipment, like trench rollers or vibratory plates, under its own brand. Wacker Neuson entered the Asian market in 2013 with mini excavator manufactured in Linz, Austria. The use of excavators is growing and it is important to take advantage of the current market opportunity. The Chinese construction machinery market in the third quarter of 2018 was 42% bigger than last year. Machinery manufactured within this cooperation will be offered only in China, Southeast Asia and Oceania. For now there is no intention to bring these machines to the Americas but if the Wacker-made machines will be successful in Pacific, there might be consideration of other markets. First machines should be delivered in the first half of 2019. The cooperation comes two years after a similar partnership between Caterpillar and Wacker Neuson ended. This should be long-term cooperation lasting for five years with the possibility to extend it.Read full article

The line features the conventional Wacker Neuson mini-excavator ET35 and the zero tail mini-excavator EZ36. The re-engineered motor-pump management system and enhanced hydraulics ensure that Wacker Neuson mini-excavators offer quick and precise working skills. The Wacker Neuson EZ36 is the german construction machine manufacturers new zero-tail model and therefore offers zero overhang at the back if the Wacker Neuson mini-excavator. This allows the operator to work in confined spaces like inner city areas or tunnels, because the tail of the electric excavator never extends beyond the undercarriage. The Wacker Neuson Group has has improved the interieur design of both mini-excavators and added outfitting which is designed to simplify the drivers work. Another feature for the ET35 and the EZ36 are guide rollers which provide extra help for lifting heavy loads. Both machines also offer a hydraulic clamp for the bucket, the Wacker Neuson “hydraulic thumb ” which can grab and remove unwanted materials like rocks or branches from the work site. Both models are available as rubber and steel tracks. Wacker Neuson also offers Vertical Digging System (VDS) and 3.5-inch display, as additional components. With the VDS system the machine can work in an even slope with a 27% gradient. The new design is also said to guarantees an ideal line-of-sight.Read full article

An example is the battery-powered vibratory plate AP1850e. This new single-direction vibratory plate AP1850e is the newest member of the eco-friendly Wacker Neuson zero emission family. Every machine model is labelled with a green “e”, which marks the machines affiliation with Wacker Neusons zero emission technology. Because of its ecological properties, the AP1850e can be operated on indoors construction sites and and in protected environmental areas like water supply sites. The AP1850e is equipped with a lithium-ion battery which can be used for the AP1850e vibratory plate and the Wacker Neuson AS30e and AS50e battery rammers as well. According to the german manufacturer this is a highly time reducing feature, since the machine operator can use one machine while the other one is charging. Operating costs of the AP1850e are lower because the Wacker Neuson vibratory plate doesn't need a carburetor and saves up to 70% more energy compared to the older machines. The engine is mounted directly on the base plate since the new AP1850e vibratory plate has no V-belt. According to Wacker Neusons CSO Alexander Greschner, electric drives and electric powered construction and agricultural machines are becoming increasingly important for the construction and agriculture industry.Read full article

Wacker Neuson and Kramer were attending this year’s Intermat, promoting their new machine portfolio. The Wacker Neuson Group introduced the new entirely emission-free vibratory plate AP1850e and Kramer presented its first 4WD wheel loader 8155 in in the 9 ton class. The innovative Wacker Neuson vibratory plate, with single direction, is battery powered. The AP1850e can work up to one hour with one battery. Interesting is, that Wacker Neusons battery rammer can be used with the same modules, the vibratory plate, like the battery and charger. This is a highly economic and flexible approach by Wacker Neuson, because the customer is able to use the battery of one machine, while the other machine is charging. Electric drives, similar to these machines, are becoming increasingly important especially for projects in interiors and in tunnels. At the Intermat 2018, Wacker Neuson presented the Zero emission range, including rammers, vibratory plates and rollers. Wacker Neuson awaits a significant sales increase from this 2018 fair trade and especially in the french market.
