Cummins QSX15 powering John Deere® 4-track 9RX tractors

Tier 4 Final 15-Liter Delivers Exceptional Performance To 620 HP- And 570 HP-Rated 9RX Model

Cummins Inc. QSX15 engines will power two models of the new John Deere 4-Track 9RX tractors – the 9620RX at 620 hp (462 kW) and the 9570RX at 570 hp (425 kW). The 9RX tractors feature a large, robust undercarriage and track system engineered to provide superior power, durability and improved ride quality, especially when handling large implements in the field.

“John Deere and Cummins have partnered to provide a reliable, productive and efficient engine solution with the Cummins QSX15 in the 9620RX and 9570RX models,” said Jerry Griffith, John Deere Product Marketing Manager, 6-9 Family Tractors.

The Cummins Tier 4 Final QSX15 provides the torque and power needed to handle the toughest field conditions. The engine powers a large-diameter drive sprocket and drive lugs that, along with optimally placed idlers and midrollers, work to deliver exceptional horsepower to the ground with less track slippage. The QSX15 has one of the highest power densities of any engine in its class, delivering 60 percent more torque rise, with up to 15 percent more horsepower than its predecessor – the Tier 4 Interim QSX15. From air handling to exhaust aftertreatment, every component and system is fully integrated, to deliver exacting performance while meeting U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 Final and European Union (EU) Stage IV emissions standards.

“Customers tell us that the 9RX has the most comfortable ride, is easier to maneuver in the field, is easier to maintain and service and, more important, provides the power they need to get field work done faster and more effectively,” said Griffith.

Customers can also find Cummins QSX15 power in the John Deere 9 Family 4WD 9620R and 9570R wheeled tractor models and the 9570RT 2-Track model.

“Relationships with customers such as John Deere are paramount to Cummins continued success in the agriculture market,” said Brian Wilson, General Manager – Cummins Agriculture Business. “We are very pleased to add the 9620RX and 9570RX tractor models to the list of John Deere equipment powered by Cummins, and we are confident that our Tier 4 Final QSX15 will provide the reliable, durable and efficient power needed for John Deere customers.”

Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant commenced production of the QSX15 for the 9RX in January. To learn more about Cummins power in the agriculture market, stop by Cummins Booths M6 and M8 at World Ag Expo, Feb. 9-11 in Tulare, Calif.
