DEUTZ participates in engineering initiative

• Young people visit DEUTZ to find out about engineering careers

• Technology centre tells them about the history of the combustion engine

This year DEUTZ AG is once again taking part in the Erlebnis Maschinenbau initiative for school-leavers. On 30 June 2016, young people with an interest in technology are visiting participating companies in their area to learn about training opportunities in the engineering sector and to find a vocation that's right for them.

At DEUTZ, the schoolchildren are being given a presentation that tells them all they need to know about the company, its product portfolio and the occupations in which it offers careers. They also have the chance to put their questions to DEUTZ's current crop of apprentices. On a tour of the historical engine collection at the DEUTZ Technology Centre, the youngsters will then discover the fascinating story of the combustion engine.

DEUTZ provides vocational apprenticeships for both male and female school-leavers in five tech-nical and engineering occupations: warehouse logistics, skilled metalworking (assembly), skilled metalworking (machining), industrial electronics and mechatronics. The high quality of the DEUTZ apprenticeship scheme is illustrated by the fact that it has been awarded the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry 'Best performer' seal of approval for the fifth year in succession. The scheme also benefits a number of other companies that contract out their vocational training either in part or in full to DEUTZ.
