In the heart of Stuttgart, construction company LEONHARD WEISS was impressed by Wacker Neuson's zero emission construction machines and equipment. The practical test has shown: Impressive performance, ease of use, and low-noise operation make the zero emission family a viable alternative for everyday construction site use.

LEONHARD WEISS tested the entire zero emission range from Wacker Neuson during the renovation of Stuttgart's market square in the heart of the city center. The construction company is a long-standing partner of Wacker Neuson and has accompanied the zero emission journey from the very start from a customer perspective. Now the entire portfolio - from battery-powered rammers to electric excavators - has been put to use on the construction site. "We really like the fact that the electric machines and construction equipment have the same power as conventional ones," emphasizes Simon Schall, Head of Central Machine Technology at LEONHARD WEISS. "During daily operation, there are fewer maintenance points than with combustion-engine equipment, and drivers or operators can get to grips with the machine much more easily."

Emission-free compaction, excavation, transport

"Feedback from on-site users is hugely important to us," says Kai Hieber, Southwest Region Sales Manager at Wacker Neuson. The battery-powered rammers that have been tried and tested on the market since 2015 as well as battery-powered plates from the new APS series for soil compaction were used at the construction site in Stuttgart. The DT10e track dumper, DW15e wheel dumper, and WL20e wheel loader enabled efficient transport of material without direct exhaust emissions and with extremely low noise emissions. The EZ17e Zero Tail excavator was available for excavation and demolition work. With its high-quality lithium-ion technology, the machine meets the high demands for performance, durability, and robustness.

An Emissions-free Tomorrow

Electric construction machinery and equipment can help meet increasingly stringent regulated limits on exhaust and noise emissions at construction sites, because no local exhaust emissions are produced. This protects the operator and the construction site environment. The electrically powered construction machines are also up to 20 decibels* quieter than their gasoline-powered counterparts. This is an extreme reduction, as just ten decibels less means a 50% reduction in perceived loudness.
