HOLMER is launching the latest generation beet harvester, the Terra Dos 5, at Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover, Germany. The machine focuses on driver comfort and economic efficiency, with driver assistance systems and intuitive operation for optimal harvesting quality.
-
The Terra Dos 5 is available in two- and three-axle variants, Terra Dos 5-30 and Terra Dos 5-40, with bunker volumes of 30 m2 and 45 m2 respectively. It is powered by a 652 HP / 480 kW Mercedes-Benz engine that complies with the Stage V emissions standard.
-
The machine features a larger comfort cabin with ergonomic armrest, underfloor heating, inductive charging for mobile phones, and a vacuum cleaner. An additional axle can be lowered for increased driver comfort and road safety.
-
The Terra Dos 5 has an optimised terminal user interface, a panorama windscreen, and four cameras for a comprehensive view of the harvesting process. It also features a new lighting concept with dimmable LED strips for better illumination at night.
-
The machine is designed for optimal harvesting quality under challenging conditions, with improved suction power, a more precise minimal cutter, and enlarged cleaning surfaces. It also features an EasyLift single-row depth guide and a horizontally adjustable forced feed shaft for adaptability in different soil types.
-
The Terra Dos 5 prioritises soil protection and economic efficiency, achieved through systematic lightweight construction, maximum tyre contact area, efficient power transmission, and low fuel consumption. It also offers multi-row harvesting units for 8, 9, or 12 rows that can be easily attached and detached.
-
The machine is digitally interconnected with the myHOLMER online platform and the agrirouter standardised data hub, allowing machine owners and schedulers to maintain an overview of all information about the machine. It also features improved components for more robustness and lower wear costs, and a newly designed engine compartment for easier maintenance.
HOLMER is now producing the latest generation beet harvester, the Terra Dos 5, in series. The HOLMER flagship will now be presented to a global audience for the first time in Germany at Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover from 12 to 18 November 2023. The Terra Dos 5 builds on the proven success of the previous model and sets new standards. The focus is on the driver and the economic efficiency of the machine. Driver assistance systems and intuitive operation guarantee the best harvesting quality under challenging conditions.
The most important points:
-
Comfort cabin and new lighting concept
-
Best harvesting quality under even the most challenging conditions
-
Focus on sustainable efficiency
-
Digital interconnectivity
This sugar beet harvester is available as a two- and three-axle variant as Terra Dos 5-30 with 30 m2 and Terra Dos 5-40 with 45 m2 bunker volume. The 652 HP / 480 kW Mercedes-Benz engine complies with the Stage V emissions standard and puts the necessary performance on the field through efficient power transmission.
The larger HOLMER comfort cabin offers the driver a comfortable workplace. The greatest ease of use due to the ergonomic armrest and a smooth ride permit fatigue-free work. Additional features such as underfloor heating, inductive charging for mobile phones and a vacuum cleaner make working with the Terra Dos 5 even more pleasant. The additional axle, which can be lowered at the touch of a button, not only offers additional comfort for the driver but also provides greater road safety.
The terminal’s user interface has been optimised as part of an intuitive concept and supports both new and experienced drivers with their work in addition to the assistance systems.
The driver has the best possible overview of the entire harvesting process due to the panorama windscreen and four cameras. The driver can maintain an overview even at night with the new lighting concept. Dimmable LED strips are attached to the cabin for more homogeneous illumination.
The aim of the further development of the Terra Dos 5 is to maintain the best harvesting quality under challenging conditions. Compact hood geometry has improved the suction power of the topper, the DynaCut minimal cutter is even more precise due to a modification in the parallel programme and the turbines cleaning surfaces have been enlarged.
The proven EasyLift single-row depth guide ensures maximum yields by automatically regulating the working depth of the shares. Beet losses due to breakage are avoided and wear is reduced, resulting in less stress for the driver. The additional horizontally adjustable forced feed shaft improves adaptability in light and heavy soils.
Soil protection is an important factor in maintaining fruitful soils. This is aided by the reduced overall weight of the harvester to 27 or 30 t by means of systematic lightweight construction and a maximum contact area for the tyres.
Economy is a further central requirement of the machine. This is achieved with maximum power with low consumption and reduced maintenance costs. The proven engine technology and the traction drive with individual hydraulically directly driven axles ensure efficient power transmission with low fuel consumption.
Even more ground coverage can be achieved with multi-row harvesting units for 8, 9 or 12 rows. These can be quickly and simply attached and detached single-handedly thanks to EasyConnect.
Various components have been improved for more robustness and thus lower wear costs. The forged harvesting shares (DuraShare) and guide grilles, the use of high-strength Hardox® steel and wear-optimised starscreen tines for example improve the durability of components. Increasing the maintenance interval for the diesel engine and the maintenance indicator for changing the hydraulic filter save money and conserve the environment. The newly designed, uncluttered engine compartment makes access to the radiator, filters and oils easier and simplifies maintenance work.
The Terra Dos 5 is digitally interconnected with the myHOLMER online platform and the agrirouter standardised data hub. Machine owners and schedulers thus maintain an overview of all information about the machine. Telemetry data can be visualised in EasyHelp 4.0 or processed further in familiar farm management systems via agrirouter.
