HOLMER exxact TerraVariant, new maize chaser

HOLMER presented the new Multi-bunker MB 35 for the Terra variant carrier vehicle at the Agritechnica 2015. This was tested as a prototype in 2014 and is now introduced as a production model. The Multibunker MB 35 is an upgrade of the proven HOLMER Beet bunker RB 35 and in addition to the extra loading for beet can now also be used to harvest maize chaff and whole-plan silage.

Advantages and technical data

The HOLMER Multibunker MB 35 has a capacity volume of 35 cubic metres, which can be extended to 40 cubic metres by a bunker increase for chaff material. Two longitudinal scratches and a cross-section scratch support the harvested crops rapidly to the centrally located XL outfeed, which is also used in the Terra Dos T4. The XL outfeed also allows a protective, lateral storage of the beet in a heap as well as flexible extra loading of the chaff material on lorries at the edge of the field. When filling the lorries on the roads, the separator benefits from better clarity from the laterally located outfeed and can independently load the lorry. A direct extra loading of chaff maize or whole-plan silage causes no soiling of the harvested crop by storing at the edge of the field. This eliminates the need for an additional extra loading machine. The unloading time of the Multibunkers MB 35 is approx. 60 seconds for sugar beet and approx. 160 seconds for chaff maize.

The elimination of the cleaner shaft known from the Beet Bunker RB 35 allows beet to be extra loaded more protectively. Use of plastic materials and high-strength steel substantially reduces the weight of the structure. The now closed side walls allow rapid change between the beet and maize harvest without additional conversion measures. The beet flow is also optimised.

Field logistics – the Terra Variant with new tyres

In silage harvest in previous years the transport distances have often risen to 30 kilometres and more, which makes transport costs one of the deciding factors in this procedure. A separation of street and field logistics is therefore a good idea both with regard to transport costs and the high harvest yields. In the field the Terra Variant displays its strengths in soil-protecting, powerful transport: crab steering, high-volume wheels (Michelin Cerex Bib 1000/55 R 32 CFO), a 35 percent wider charging hold for the chaff driver – compared to conventional transport technology –, a reliably high extra load even in difficult conditions. This opens up new dimensions in field logistics for the Terra Variant with Multibunker MB 35.
