Kawelke Kran Receives Demag® AC 130-5 All Terrain Crane with IC-1 Plus Control System

Beginning of April, Sales Representative Michael Ziegler handed over a Demag® AC 130-5 crane with an IC-1 Plus control system to crane rental company Kawelke at the latter’s premises in Bobenheim-Roxheim. The crane was the family business’ most recent acquisition, and General Manager Jürgen Kawelke received it in person together with his mother Ellen and his sister Regine.

“The whole concept behind the innovative IC-1 Plus control system is what really sold us on the crane, as it makes it possible to always get the maximum available lifting capacity even when using asymmetrical or small outrigger setups,” Jürgen Kawelke says. This crucial advantage is achieved by means of a real-time lifting capacity calculation that also makes it possible to perform lifts in the crane’s upper lifting capacity range with the smallest possible counterweight. “Ultimately, this means that we get increased versatility while at the same time reducing transportation costs,” Jürgen Kawelke concisely explains. This versatility is further enhanced by the crane’s compact dimensions. In fact, a total length of 14.45 meters and a carrier width of only 2.75 meters make the AC 130-5 the most compact crane in its capacity class.

In addition, Jürgen Kawelke pointed out the excellent resale value, which makes his decision to buy the AC 130-5 cost-effective in the long term as well.
