New Primera DMC 12001-2C seed drill

Worldwide the Primera DMC seed drill has gained an excellent reputation as the universal seed drill for cost saving production systems across large areas. With a choice of 3 m, 3.5 m, 6 m, 9 m or 12 m working widths it can be operated in either a direct or mulch sowing application and also for drilling after conventional soil tillage.

In summer 2015 AMAZONE will introduce to the market the Primera DMC 12001-2C with a 12 m working width. The most important innovation of this machine is the 13,000 l capacity pressurised tank. The large volume gives a significant reduction in fill times and thus higher acreage work rates when sowing.

Pressurised tank with four compartments

Also new is the division of the pressurised tank into four compartments of equal size. So, depending on the requirement, either seed only or seed and fertiliser can be applied at a ratio of 3:1 or 1:1. Thanks to the four part division even two different fertiliser types can be placed via the Single-Shoot system into the same furrow together with the seed. The conversion between the variations of seed only and seed/fertiliser application is carried out quickly and simply.

Flexible metering system

The metering system is flexibly designed enabling adjustment of the seed rates via infinitely-variable, maintenance-free Vario gearboxes across a range of 2 to 500 kg/ha. Available as standard for the metering unit are three differing sized metering cassettes (large, medium, fine) providing the exact volume of metering for different seeds and fertiliser. As an option, also available are metering cassettes for green manure, maize, sunflowers, peas, beans and other crops. For filling the pressurised tank with seed and fertiliser, AMAZONE offers a hydraulically-driven filling auger meaning that fill times are reduced down to 15 minutes and thus accordingly this further increases the work rate of the machine.

Chisel openers with hoop ring rollers

During the sowing operation the Primera DMC travels at speeds of up to 15 km/h and is characterised above all by its easy-pulling. Seed and fertiliser placement is carried out via the parallelogram suspended chisel openers at a row spacing of 18.75 cm. For depth, the chisel openers are guided via diagonally-opposed hoop ring rollers installed in pairs behind each opener. These hoop ring rollers accurately guide the opener, even at high sowing speeds, at the correct placement depth whilst, at the same time, deflecting the soil flow thrown rearwards and sideways by the chisel opener back onto the seed furrow. This means that the seed furrow is safely covered with loose soil even under very wet soil conditions.

Revomat overload protection system

The opener units are arranged in a 4 stagger arrangement on longitudinal cross members which results in a 75 cm wide diagonal “tunnel” between the openers. This allows on the one hand the relatively narrow opener spacing of 18.75 cm and, at the same time, prevents blockage from harvest residues. Also sowing on stony soils is, thanks to the Revomat overload protection system, no problem. For the final coverage of the seed the Primera DMC can be equipped with the Exact harrow or Roller harrow depending on the operational conditions.

Equipped with AMALOG+ on-board computer

The electric tramline control is monitored and regulated with the aid of the AMALOG+ in-cab terminal. The AMALOG+ simultaneously monitors the blower fan speed, registers forward speed and features an integrated daily and total hectare counter. As an option, the machine can also be equipped with electronic seed pipe monitoring that offers a safe and timely warning about any blockages in the seed pipes.
