Putzmeister Tunneling and Mining Equipment at BAUMA 2013

Putzmeister exhibits its concrete spraying system SPM 500 WETKRET with new additive dosing system and latest low-profile concrete mixer for mining MIXKRET 4 at BAUMA 3013 SPM 500 WETKRET Series: Incorporation of new additive dosing system The SPM 500 WETKRET series has proven its efficiency and reliability in a large number of
tunneling projects all over the world. With a vertical spraying reach of 17 m and a concrete flow of 30 m3/h, the machine is suitable for both medium and large section tunnels, galleries and slopes.

SPM 500 WETKRET series is equipped with an automatic system for high precision synchronization between the concrete pump and the additive dosing unit. At BAUMA we present the incorporation of a new development in the additive dosing system. The peristaltic pump was replaced by a helicoidal additive dosing pump, regulated by closed loop and controlled electronically, providing a 40% increase in additive flow capacity, which facilitates the use of additives which require high dosage without having to reduce the concrete flow rate, thereby increasing productivity in the operation.

Additionally, the new direct measurement system by means of an electromagnetic flow meter provides actual instantaneous measurement, ensuring accuracy regardless of system wear. Thus, an optimum mix is achieved at all times, ensuring spraying accuracy and quality.

The hydraulic spraying arm of the SPM 500 WETKRET allows vertical alignment to be maintained automatically, which facilitates handling the spraying arm. The automatic arm movement and nozzle oscillation further facilitate the operator´s work, so that he can concentrate on spraying finish quality. The Putzmeister concrete pump mounted on the equipment provides a maximum concrete flow of 30 m3/h, and the remote control permits full regulation of the concrete output, as well as adjustments to the predefined additive dosage.

The chassis of the SPM 500 WEKTRKET series features four driving and steering wheels with crab mode, providing maneuverability in difficult driving situations. The machine has two front and two rear legs, protected against possible impacts, which permit the proper stabilization of the machine in order to proceed with the operation on any kind of ground. The two-speed driving system allows the machine to travel quickly over level surfaces and climb gradients of up to 35% at low speed. Thanks to its positioning and design, the driver cabin assures visibility in any situation.

The SPM 500 WETKRET standard version is operated electrically and is available with an electric air compressor built into the chassis. The series also includes a Diesel version, which is equipped with a diesel drive system so that all the spraying operation components can be operated by the combustion engine, which means the machine works in places where no power supply is available.

Putzmeister MIXKRET 4: Latest low-profile concrete mixer for mining
Putzmeister´s latest concrete mixer for mining MIXKRET 4 was launched last year and is already in use in several mining projects mainly in South America and Asia. In mining, not only Putzmeister customers who use, for example, the SPM 4210 concrete spraying equipment, complete their machine park with the MIXKRET 4 in order to complement the concrete spraying process. The machine is optionally available with an additive tank for transporting and transferring additives to the shotcrete equipment, enhancing jobsite logistics.

MIXKRET 4 provides a concrete capacity of 4 m3 and is equipped with a 6-cyliner, 130 kW (174 HP) engine, which provides it with a great traction and driving capacity as well as the possibility to work at high altitudes. The cabin, mounted in machine direction, and the nightvision camera at the rear, facilitate its maneuvering and ensure visibility conditions at all times. Its compact design and state-of-the-art axles, both used for steering and driving, provide mobility and maneuverability in narrow galleries and tunnels. The machine has hydrostatic transmission with a stepless variable gear motor, which ensures an ideal torque:speed ratio. Furthermore, the MIXKRET 4 features an automatic speed control system for moving down slopes fully loaded at the maximum secure speed.

About Putzmeister Underground Division
For over 30 years, Putzmeister has been designing, developing and producing concrete spraying equipment for mines and tunnels. The main components of Putzmeister spraying equipment: the chassis, concrete pump, spraying arm and control software, are designed, developed and produced in-house in order to offer perfectly synchronised equipment in line with customers´ requirements and the rough working conditions in tunnelling and mining.
