ATLAS Maschinen GmbH have in the meantime relocated their complete production of SCHAEFF transverse cutting units to their factory in Vechta, Northern Germany, and continue to distribute these cutting units under the SCHAEFF name.

Sewer and pipeline construction, extraction of materials (removal), demolition and recycling (profiling and crushing) – these are the main fields of application for SCHAEFF hydraulic cutting units. Application underwater is assured to a depth of 25 meters without requiring specific modification.

The efficiency of cutting technology is not exclusively defined by its power in kW but by the effective power at the tip of the pick. SCHAEFF cutting units with patented technology are equipped with reduction gear units that get the decisive “added value” out of the high-torque engines and helical gear units.

The ATLAS product range currently comprises seven standard cutters with a hydraulic power output of 18 thru 150 kW and drums with cutting head widths between 500 and 1400 mm. These cutting units are mounted to mini-excavators (from an operating weight of two tons upwards), compact excavators (crawler/wheeled), and heavyweights (up to 60 tons).

When equipped with different tools (drums) a base unit can be turned into a genuine all-rounder for a variety of applications. This proves especially effective in mini and compact excavators. The standard crushing drum for soft and medium-hard rock is not limited in cutting depth. This means that it gives you maximum crushing power for optimal productivity. The low-vibration profiling drum has the highest number of picks for accurate and true-to-profile machining of surfaces. For hard rock as well as reinforced concrete the demolition drum is used. A wear-protected spiral-shaped plate for cutting depth limitation ensures smooth and low-vibration running.

In most cases we have suitable standard cutters in stock, which are also available for rent at reasonable rates. Upon request our staff provides support for demonstrations at the customer’s site, too.”
