§  28 new Kögel Combi: perfect for efficient swap body haulage

Spedition Ansorge GmbH & Co. KG has relied on high-quality trailers from Burtenbach for years. The current Ansorge fleet, over 90 per cent of which consists of Kögel vehicles, has also undergone a massive upgrade this year. During the summer, 80 new Kögel Cargo Rail trailers with paper equipment were added and, very recently, Ansorge Logistik ordered 28 Kögel Combi swap body trailers at IAA Commercial Vehicles.

Kögel Cargo Rail with paper equipment

The trailers designed for multi-modal haulage are equipped with a reinforced chassis frame. The gripper edges integrated into the frame and a gripper jaw tarpaulin protection made from aramid fabric allow the Cargo Rail trailers to be loaded onto rails. Kögel Cargo Rail has thus been designed for flexible loading on the most prevalent rail pocket wagons. For optimal load-securing, 13 pairs of lashing rings are available within the VarioFix perforated steel external frame, each ring affording 2,000 kg of tensile force. The interiors of the front wall are also optionally reinforced with a two millimetre thick and 1,000 millimetre high galvanised steel plate for added protection of the front wall. The trailers are, of course, certified in accordance with DIN EN 12642 Code XL.

In order to equip them for the transport of paper rolls, there are four longitudinal aluminium loading rails with an integrated hole arrangement for load-securing with locking wedges during loading and unloading. So that the paper rolls remain dry, at Ansorge Logistik individual equipment, such as tarpaulin with an additional water barrier, is used in the area of the gripper edges and splash guard covers for the 13 pairs of lashing rings in the external frame.

Kögel Combi

With the 28 Kögel Combi swap body trailers, Ansorge Logistik has opted for an intelligent commercial vehicle solution. Thanks to a plug-in and folding standard stop, the chassis are the optimum solution for the transport of swap bodies of all types. With a tare weight upward of 2.7 tonnes and a light but still stable frame construction, the swap body chassis are suitable for high payloads. The optimised axle geometry guarantees excellent road handling and tracking during empty trips. For better everyday handling, the swap bodies can be raised and lowered even without a tractor unit by means of lateral control levers and an adequate air supply. Plug-in guide rollers also assist in precise swap body underriding.

"As a loyal Kögel customer, for us it was clear from the outset that we would rely on Kögel trailers when expanding our fleet", says Wolfgang Thoma, managing partner of Ansorge Logistik. "During the summer, we have already received 80 Kögel Cargo Rail trailers. Now our swap body trailers fleet needed an update and of course our path on this front, too, led us to Kögel."
