Steam locomotive lost track

Van der Vlist has recently transported a steam locomotive, that was manufactured in 1943, from Loenen to Simpelveld, the Netherlands. Due to the age and condition of the locomotive it was not possible for it to be transported  by rail and therefore Van der Vlist offered a solution by road.

Two trucks, with both with width-adjustable vessel bridge trailers, were used to transport the steam locomotive and the tender wagon. A route survey was completed in advance to ensure that the night time movement was carried out with no problems.
The steam locomotive comes from the collection of the Veluwsche Steam Train Company. The engine is currently being refurbished, once the works are completed, the locomotive will be put to work on the Miljoenenlijn. This is a museum where the Zuid-Limburgse Steam Train Company operates the longest working line in the Dutch province of Limburg.
