From 22-23 August the best ploughmen of the country fighted for the treasured “ploughing challenge”-trophy in Laakirchen (district Gmunden). The winners have qualified for the National Ploughing Championship 2016. 26 starters have demonstrated how to make tillage to an exciting challenge.

The winner in the category “mounted reversible ploughs” is the experienced ploughman Andreas Gstöttenmayr ("Landjugend – Young Farmers Club” – Alberndorf). Closely followed by Sebastian Scherrer from St. Florian on 2nd place. Martin Wurhofer (“Landjugend – Young Farmers Club” - Neukirchen) achieved the 3rd rank. All three together have qualified for the National Ploughing Championship in the county of Styria – in August 2016. with their Vogel & Noot ploughs. The 4th prize has gone to Karl Scherrer with his plough from Vogel & Noot.

Competitive ploughing is one of the Landjugend’s oldest yearly event. Precision, speed and constancy – many criteria determine victory or defeat. Important is the soil quality of the ploughed parcel of land. Critical success factor is the used equipment – besides of skills and training.
