ZCC3200NP Crawler Crane Succeeded in Lifting the World’s Heaviest Shell Dome

On September 2015, Zoomlion ZCC3200NP crawler crane boasting the world’s maximum lifting capacity made its second appearance in Tianwan Nuclear Power Station in China’s Jiangsu Province and succeeded in lifting the world’s heaviest shell dome for 4# nuclear power unit on site, achieving another magnificent feat after the “first lifting” in nuclear power construction on December 20, 2014, perfectly realizing the further application of domestic 3000T crawler cranes in the nuclear power field, and again demonstrating the Zoomlion’s confidence in strategy and independent innovation competence as a China’s high-end equipment manufacturer.

As the China’s first 3000T crawler crane coming off the line, passing the test, obtaining a certificate and successfully applied in the nuclear power construction, ZCC3200NP lifted off the dome with diameter of 44 m, full height of 22 m and gross weight of nearly 500T in less than two hours after hoisting, luffing, traveling and hook-drop, fulfilling the lifting task for 4# unit of the Station smoothly, accurately and brilliantly.

As the China’s first nuclear power project approved after the Fukushima Nuclear Accident, 4# unit of the Station stands together with the 3# unit which features the world’s greatest and heaviest shell dome; at the end of last year, Zoomlion ZCC3200NP crawler crane was engaged in integral dome lifting for 3# unit of the Station (Phase II) and succeeded in the first dome lifting among the global nuclear power projects after the Japan earthquake.

Independent development and successful application of large-tonnage crawler cranes is an important indicator to measure whether a crane manufacturer has the core creativity. Besides two successes in the Station, ZCC3200NP has again performed well at Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Station in the first half of this year. “Tests for more than three years and practical application of two nuclear power projects have made us a competitor to international giants in this field”, as proudly noted by the head of Zoomlion crawler crane project.

There are innumerable sophisticated scientific project researches in the development of ZZ3200NP, gaining for ZCC3200NP more than 50 proprietary intellectual property rights and over 20 patents for invention, not only making it break through the design bottleneck of China heavy-duty crawler cranes but also greatly boosting the development of industry technology.
