The weather is warming up and so are the agricultural machines: it is time pull out the tractors from their sheds and making them work at full capacity.

There is not better opportunity to see in action Alliance new generation radial tires for modern farm tractors: FarmPRO series, A365 AgriStar and A372 AGRIFLEX equipped with IF and VF technology.

Considering the current agricultural industry, customers are looking for cost competitive products within radial range. “End users know clearly what they need: tires able to guarantee a superior traction, efficient in terms of self – cleaning, designed to have a longer life and to provide high standards of comfort while riding” explains Emiliano Bertolini, ATG Field Engineer for Italian market.

ATG team tested Alliance FarmPRO tires in the heart of Tuscan Maremma, together with Franco and Stefano Menghini, co-owners with Federico Menghini of Menghini Tires, ATG dealers based in Braccagni (Grossetto-Italy).

FarmPRO 70 and FarmPRO 85, versatile range of radials for modern tractors

FarmPRO series are tractor radials with a very special compound able to enhance the product life. This R-1W tyre is available in 30 sizes, from rim sizes of 20 inches up to 46 inches, making it ideal for both front and rear axle fitments on most MFWA tractors.

“FarmPRO tires have been upgraded with an improved compound to increase hardness, tensile strength, cut & snags resistance and – on the other side – to reduce abrasion loss” states Bertolini.

“They have already proved to be really resistant to cuts and wear and their higher tread depth guarantees a good grip on both dry and wet ground” confirms Gianni Savelli, Director of Castello Banfi, 7,100 acres of land, about one third is under vine in a constellation of single vineyards, the remainder occupied by olive groves, fruit trees (mainly plums), woods and scrub.

Bertolini explains “The advanced lug design, with its steep angle in the center, significantly improves the machines’ stability. Looking at the tread, you can notice that the lug’s angle becomes less steep at the shoulder to provide good traction, especially on slopes. This enables the tractor to operate efficiently and be more productive”.

Castello Banfi has recently purchased 60 brand new tires FarmPRO 85-842 and FarmPRO II 846 (280/85R20 and 380/85R28) that have just been fitted on New Holland T4050 tractors now working among the world famous vineyards of Montalcino.

After 250 hours they look like they are still new. “The main challenge for us was to find a tire able to face this amazing but demanding ground: the lower part of the estate is made of alluvial soil, however the upper part presents loamy soil” says Savelli “FarmPRO tires are strong and reliable on stony grounds, with a good traction no matter the soil’s condition. Last but not least, they have better life duration than other most expensive brands”.

Comparing to normal R-1, the FarmPRO range has 20% more tread depth. The reinforced bead areas and the aggressive shoulders combine hardness to excellent traction in the field. “Slip is the worst enemy of traction and it should be minimal. The strong and aggressive FarmPRO lugs provide perfect cut and chunk resistance, granting also very good stability on slopes” concludes Bertolini.
