Film tying unit on display on Agritechnica

Lely is showcasing a Film tying unit for fixed chamber balers at the Agritechnica in Hannover. This new development was initiated by a growing demand of having bales tied and wrapped using just one type of wrapping material. Lely presents the VarioFilm unit on a Lely Welger RPC 245 Tornado baler wrapper combination unit which again highlights that the company is constantly improving their products in accordance with changing customer needs.

This system replaces the normal net tying unit and it is very easy to switch between net and film by putting a roll of either in to the holder. Both tying materials have their own feeding system to start the tying process. The system selected will be activated after a quick change of the tying setting on the control unit in the tractor cab.

Although Lely have extensively tested the system, it will not be commercially available for 2016. Lely wishes to further explore the opportunities for film tying to introduce an even more optimized system to the market. Further testing and development will take place in 2016 to finalize this concept with the aim of reducing costs to an acceptable level for our customers and to have it available for the 2017 season.
