ALE has performed the first load-out in Oman as part of the Rabab Harweel Integrated Project.
ALE’s Oman branch were awarded a six-month turnkey project, whereby they have been contracted to deliver 67 pipe rack modules, weighing between 130t – 250t, from Duqm Port 600km to the project site in Harweel, Oman.
During this project, ALE will be using a variety of different techniques, from weighing, storage and transportation, to load-ins, load-outs and ship chartering. Furthermore, ALE will be utilising a variety of cranes and transport equipment, including chartering geared vessels and the Trojan truck.
The first operation took place in July and involved the load-out of six pipe rack modules and two columns, weighing a total of 1,100t using SPMTs to deliver the cargo from the fabrication yard to the ship cranes’ hooks.
Yasser Al Yasin, Country Manager in Oman for ALE, commented: “The Rabab Harweel Integrated Project is the first project of its kind for ALE to undertake in Oman, in terms of the complexity and logistics. The integration of so many different techniques and services is really unique and demonstrates ALE’s growth not only in the oil and gas market but also engineering and operational capabilities in Oman.”
The operations are part of the construction of a gas processing facility, expected to deliver a peak export of 4.9 MMsm3/d of sweet gas and 9700 m3/d of condensate in addition to approx. 16 MMsm3/d of high pressure sour injection.
