BKL: hugely successful at bauma 2019
24 April 2019
State-of-the-art crane technology, the brand new CM 415 and BKL's services draw crowds of visitors to stand FS.1103/1.
Following bauma 2019, BKL is delighted to report that this year's edition of the world's leading trade fair was the most successful to date for the Munich-based company. Scores of visitors, customers and partners made their way to the stand in the Outdoor Exhibition Area south to find out more about crane innovations, BKL's extensive fleet of over 600 cranes and the crane specialist's range of services.
Extremely positive review of bauma 2019
"bauma 2019 was a resounding success. Basically, our stand was packed from Monday morning onwards. The response to our products and stand concept was absolutely overwhelming. We are thrilled at the numerous promising talks with customers, partners and, above all, new prospects regarding all fields of business from mobile cranes to tower cranes, right through to our range of services, which resulted in countless sales and rental projects", Jörg Hegestweiler, managing director at BKL, summed up the fair. In particular, the première of the new crane in the BKL System Cattaneo attracted a great deal of attention.
The brand new CM 415 is a major player in the 60 tonne-metre league
BKL unveiled the new fast-erecting tower crane CM 415 at bauma 2019. The latest development literally takes the BKL System Cattaneo to new heights: without the need for additional climbing tower sections, the crane offers three hook heights in the 60 tonne-metre category: 23.8 metres, 28.5 metres and 31.5 metres. This means that the hook height can be adjusted according to the individual onsite situation. Using a 20° steep angle position, the maximum hook height can be increased to 42 metres. Moreover the self-erecting crane has a radius of up to 41 metres, a peak load of 1.25 tonnes and a maximum load capacity of 5 tonnes.
The fast-erecting crane is highly versatile owing to its technical data, short slewing radius of just 2.5 and 3.2 metres respectively and simple assembly. The CM 415 will be added to BKL's rental fleet and is ideal for the construction of residential complexes, for example.
BKL is "now over the 1,000 limit", thanks to the 21LC1050
The second highlight at the fair, the 21LC1050 by BKL's stand partner Comansa, also takes the BKL rental fleet to a whole new level: BKL can now supply tower cranes in lifting classes from 13 to 1,050 tonne-metres. The flat- top tower crane offers a maximum load capacity of 50 tonnes and a maximum radius of up to 90 metres. Now that bauma is over, the mighty crane is also joining BKL's rental fleet, where it is currently Germany's largest flat-top rental crane. The 1,050 tonne-metre colossus has already been booked by BKL's customer Klebl for the construction of a modular housing complex in Berlin.
"Working Hero" – presenting the job of a crane technician
BKL's video "Working Hero by bauma" was launched online to mark the opening of bauma 2019. At the BKL stand, visitors were able to follow a team of BKL experts on an LED screen as they assembled a top-slewing crane in Frankfurt, before meeting the BKL heroes in person.
The "White Giant" and digital services
Against the impressive backdrop of an 85 tonne-metre PK92002-SH loader crane, which was mounted on concrete pillars approximately four metres above the exhibition stand, visitors were able to put BKL's digital applications through their paces at different stations. For example, customers and interested parties had a chance to try out BKL's app with the crane finder, test their own knowledge with the new training software used by BKL to instruct its mobile crane operators and see the tower crane rental team in action, with the help of CAD-based site planning. The new loader crane is now extending the rental fleet at BKL's Ingolstadt location.
