Check out the new cab on Landini 5-H tractors at LAMMA 2016

With more space, a new control layout and bigger windows, operators of an improved version of the Landini 5-H Series tractor enjoy a better all-round driving experience.

Engineers at manufacturer Argo Tractors designed a new cab for the tractor – and for its smaller siblings in the 4 Series – that improves the interior layout while raising standards to automotive levels of quality, fit and finish.

“Several upgrades have improved the 5-H in the years since it replaced the Landini Vision but this is the best and most comprehensive update,” says Ray Spinks, sales director at distributor AgriArgo. “The interior style and layout have moved to another level, making this a more attractive, comfortable and productive tractor to use.”

A slim header rail is an outwardly obvious feature of the new low profile cab; it results in improved upwards visibility in combination with the roof window, which is especially useful when operating the tractor with a Landini MClassic loader.

Visibility to the rear is also improved because the bulbous housing for the air conditioning system and filters has been replaced. A slimline heat exchanger in the roof and filters housed upright in the rear pillars leave the way clear for a wider opening rear window.

Inside the cab, operators will appreciate the spool valve levers being angled towards the driver, the way the transmission range lever is tucked out of the way but still easily accessible; and the provision of an integrated joystick for operating a loader or the optional 2.1 tonne lift front linkage.

The cab is roomier than the previous design – which continues to be fitted to the simpler-spec Landini 5-D Series tractor that replaced the Powerfarm – and has a larger glass area making it a light and airy place to work with improved visibility in all directions.

Also, the tractor’s fuel tank has been enlarged to 120-litres so that more work can be completed between refills and the hydraulics benefit from a larger, 63-litre/min gear pump – up 21 per cent – to cater for equipment needing more oil.

The model line-up is unchanged: each of the four versions can be had with a synchro shuttle transmission and 85hp, 95hp, 102hp and 113hp from the economical 3.4-litre engine, plus an optional creeper ‘box.

Alternatively, the ‘performance boost’ package includes button shifting between an additional three powershift speeds, a gear lever mounted declutch button, and a power shuttle with adjustable modulation to suit different situations.

Unusually, this package also includes increased outputs from the 3.4-litre, four-cylinder engine that automatically kick in when operating a pto-driven mobile implement or pulling a trailer. The standard power outputs then increase to 95hp, 102hp and 113hp on the 5-090H, 5-100H and 5-110H, while the 5-115H stays at 113hp for all operations.
