Grinding is one of the most important stages in any solid raw material processing plant. Whether they are aggregates, recycling, biomass or even foodstuffs such as cereals, it is common to find a mill that reduces the materials to useful granulometries for later stages in the plant, or just ready for packaging. These mills can be of different types and robustness but practically all variants are susceptible to have a breakdown due to the entry of a metal part. If a solid metal enters into the crushing chamber, the damage can cost several thousand euros, in addition to the loss of profit due to the plant having to close.

Drago Electrónica is a manufacturer of magnetic separators and metal detectors whose main mission is the protection of these mills.

Magnetic separators separate the ferrous metals mixed in the bulk material, thus preventing them from entering the mill and causing plant stoppages. We manufacture multiple variants of magnetic separators:

Metal detectors are equipments for detecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, providing total protection of the installation. When the detector finds metal mixed with the material, it gives an acoustic and visual alarm and stops both the conveyor belt where it is located and the previous feeder.

The optimal solution is a dual system in which first a magnetic separator removes almost all metals, while a small further down the conveyor belt, a metal detector ensures that no non-magnetic metal remains inside.
