Energya for Scandinavia

Environmental protection, reduced energy consumption, the use of recycled materials, and reduced emissions are the main ecological objectives of Swerock, one of Sweden's largest groups specialised in the production, transportation, and installation of concrete for the construction industry. These important issues were the underlying theme of the meeting held on 6 November 2015 at the Swerock head offices in Rosersberg (Stockholm County) following the purchase of two Energya mixer trucks, the first on the Scandinavian market. Hans Orest, the manager in charge of Swerock's vehicle-mounted pumps and mixers department, explains that the group, which employs approximately 900 people, has various concrete and aggregate production plants throughout Sweden, as well as a considerable fleet of mixer trucks and vehicle-mounted pumps. The recent purchase of the two Energya models, and last year's purchase of two new truck-mounted pumps (a K31 and K45 Carbotech), show how Swerock group is attentive to the innovative and technological aspects of its machinery, and prefers "Top Level" units that can be easily matched with its business and environmental needs. Orest emphasises that the choice of the two hybrid Energya units was due to the fact that Swerock wants to be the first Swedish company to invest in the future of the environment, in a country where much attention is paid to ecology and where the use of machinery that complies with the strict environmental standards is essential. One Energya unit will be employed in the Stockholm area, and the other in the south of Sweden, where the concrete market is growing in both the public and private sectors. The Energya units also represent a combination of "green" technological innovations. In fact, the two mixers have been mounted on Volvo vehicles that use a synthetic fuel obtained from municipal waste, which, in combination with normal diesel, allows for a significant reduction in environmental CO2 emissions. The event was attended by numerous participants, and the local political representative even gave a speech due to the particular circumstances. The attendees included Carl Fredrik and Måns Sjödahl, respectively the owner and sales representative of Modern Betong, a CIFA dealer in Sweden that played an important role in the sale of the two machines. Modern Betong was founded in 2007, is headquartered in Stockholm, and sells various types of machinery and materials to small and large companies throughout Sweden. All the attendees also appreciated the Energya unit's quiet functionality: in fact, one of the two mixer trucks was left running inside the warehouse for the entire duration of the event thanks its peculiar characteristic of being able to operate quietly with the truck's engine off, while the other was available outside for those who wanted to view its cab and technical equipment. In short, the event was an enormous success for the customer, the dealer, and naturally CIFA, which reached a important milestone in Sweden. Step by step, this new mixer truck is proving itself to be another form of "green energy" for the future.
