engcon exclusive attachment supplier in major collaboration

The Association of Swedish Earth Moving Contractors has entered a major partnership agreement with Pon Equipment, dealer of Caterpillar. Among other things, the agreement will provide favourable member prices on selected excavators and a major, long-term training initiative by the Association. In the collaboration, engcon was selected as the supplier of attachments and accessories for the excavators.

Pon sought a partner that could supply associated products that supplement the machines with effective functions. Engcon was chosen.

"The choice of Engcon as an attachment supplier for the excavators was fairly obvious. They are capable of providing a complete solution with safe quick hitches and modern tiltrotators that can be retrofitted with a lot of extra accessories," says Kristian Johansson, Product Specialist at Pon.

Pon also chose to equip the Association's machines with Engcon's DC2 control system and MIG2 joysticks.

­"MIG2 is an ergonomic joystick with many functions and, in our experience, DC2 is a good control system that can also be supported remotely over a smartphone. Our customers appreciate this," continues Kristian Johansson.

The campaign is an extensive effort by the Association and also comprises machines for the Association's training centre. The right equipment is needed there to create qualitative training opportunities for machine operators, a professional group that will soon be in short supply at the same time that the need is growing. The goal for the Association is for the training courses to serve as a basis for the industry's competency development. Having the opportunity to supply products to such an initiative is of course an honour.

"It's an honour to be involved in such an extensive campaign," says Lars Rönnestrand, Sales Manager at Engcon Sweden, who is supplying Engcon's equipment.

"It's also gratifying that Pon discovered our concept that makes it possible to buy a tiltrotator as a basic version and then be able to retrofit it with the EC-Oil automatic oil connection system, detachable grabs (coming autumn 2016), the ePS rotation sensor for excavator guidance systems, ergonomic handles, and so on," continues Lars.
