The restrictive measures adopted after the outbreak of the COVID-19 show their significant impact on extra-EU trade in goods.
According to an analysis of Eurostat, comparing the trade volumes of January and March 2020, the largest decreases were observed for machinery and vehicles (-20%). Similarly, imports of machinery and vehicles dropped by 15%, as portrayed in the chart. Further information can be found here.
