Kohler partners with JCB

The Kohler-Lombardini Group has recently signed an important agreement with JCB, a British company, leader in the production of construction and agriculture machineries worldwide. The KDI engine, whose production has started this year in Reggio Emilia, has been chosen against many proposals present on the market due to its high level of innovation. The KDI engine is in fact Tier 4 final compliant and meets the new Stage IIIB emission norms, which came in force at the beginning of 2013 for all industrial machines with capacities between 37 and 56 kW within the EU, (19 to 56 kW in the U.S.).
“This partnership makes Lombardini proud  of the job done by our Engineering department and all associates that contributed to this important achievement”, said Giuseppe Bava - Managing Director of the Company- “JCB choice was determined by the technological innovations that allows our engines to meet the new emission levels without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This will be beneficial both for  the manufacturers, which will be able to use a more compact engine, without needing a process of regeneration of the particulate filter (DPF), and also for the end consumer, who will benefit from a reduction in fuel consumption and operating costs. Finally, the high performance specifications both in terms of torque density and  power density, makes the KDI the new reference also for higher displacement engines. "

The official presentation of the new Teletruk JCB 35D powered by the KDI 2504TCR Italian engine took place in September at the RWM show in Birmingham. The promotion of many other applications, including excavators, skid steer loaders, forklift trucks, loading shovels and telescopic handlers, will continue at Agritechnica in Hanover in November 2013.
The partnership with JCB represents for the Kohler-Lombardini group the first of a long series of strategic agreements with leading global companies in different industrial sectors.

This is the beginning of a new phase of growth for the Italian Company, characterized by new business challenges and increasingly sophisticated applications.
Furthermore, the KDI engine family will soon include a new model with a 3.4 L displacement, which will enable the achievement of 100 kW.
